I am a biochemist and founder of Labfundr, Canada's first crowdfunding platform for scientific research and outreach. Our goal is to increase the awareness of, and support for, science culture in Canada. Crowdfunding enables people to tell their story, communicate science to new audiences, and make projects happen through many donations from "the crowd". We aim to get people excited about the process of research, and to feel like part of the team. And in doing so, help bridge the gap between society and science.
