Sarah Gauthier is a professional engineer who has spent her career focused in the areas of water resources, water treatment, and the environment. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Geological, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. This is a new position for Sarah in which she will be teaching in all years of the undergraduate program, have involvement with the Indigenous Peoples’ initiatives within the College of Engineering, and establish a research program related to engineering pedagogy.

In 2014, Ms. Gauthier co-founded an engineering consulting company, Missinipi Water Solutions; she also serves on several boards and committees for companies that are committed to economic development within First Nations, and sharing the history of Indigenous Peoples of the Northern Plains. Ms. Gauthier holds undergraduate degrees in Microbiology and Civil Engineering, as well as a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. She is registered as a professional engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan, as a project management professional with the Project Management Institute, and as a professional director with the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy.

Ms. Gauthier is a SHAD alumnus from the University of Manitoba campus (1994).
